Code of Ethics
1. Purpose and scope
1.1. This Code sets the ethical standards of Clirium's Magazine (the "Magazine"), a monthly digital periodical published since January 2026 by BRANDWORKSAPP LLC (the "Publisher"). It supplements and expands the Editorial Policy, Disclaimer, Advertising Disclosure, Contributor Terms & Release and Comment Policy published on cliriumsmagazine.com.
1.2. The Code binds the Editor-in-Chief, editors, translators, designers, photographers, contractors and any other person who prepares content for the Magazine (together, the "Editorial Team"). It applies to every format: the heroine's first-person story, the chronicle of change, the editor's commentary, the heroine's profile, the cover, the sections "Participant's Story", "Interview" and "Victoria's Column", newsletters and the Magazine's social media.
1.3. In this Code, "heroine" means the woman whose story is published in an issue, whether a participant in CLIRIUM® ME programmes or an invited guest.
2. Truthfulness and verification
2.1. The Magazine publishes only true stories about real people. Nothing is invented, composited or dramatised: no fictional characters, merged biographies, imagined scenes or reconstructed dialogue presented as fact.
2.2. Facts, dates, amounts of money, places, titles, credentials and other verifiable details are checked before publication. Where a detail can reasonably be confirmed by a document (for example, a diploma, certificate, contract, court decision, bank or tax record, publication or official register), the Editorial Team asks to see that document or confirms it from a reliable public source.
2.3. Documents shown for verification are used for verification only. They are not published, copied or retained beyond what the check requires unless the heroine gives separate consent.
2.4. Where a material fact cannot be verified, the Editorial Team will either omit it or attribute it clearly to the heroine ("she says", "in her account"). Unverifiable claims that could harm another person or mislead readers about health, money or legal matters are not published.
2.5. Opinion, recollection and interpretation are not presented as fact. Numbers are not rounded or inflated for effect; income, savings or other financial figures are published only as stated and verified, with the period they refer to.
2.6. Headlines, cover lines, pull quotes, captions and social-media posts must be supported by the text of the story and must not overstate it.
3. The heroine's voice and editorial attribution
3.1. Stories are told in the first person, based on a personal interview with the Editor-in-Chief conducted online or in person. The Editorial Team edits for clarity, length and structure and does not change the meaning of what the heroine said or rewrite the facts of her life.
3.2. Direct quotations reproduce the heroine's words. Condensing and translating are permitted if the meaning is preserved; no statement is placed in quotation marks that the heroine did not make.
3.3. The heroine's account, the editorial questions, the chronicle prepared by the Editorial Team and the Editor-in-Chief's commentary are always visually and textually distinguished. Each story states that it was prepared by the Editorial Team on the basis of an interview with the heroine, and the editor's commentary is signed by its author.
3.4. Before publication the heroine receives the final text, headline and images and confirms them in writing (including by e-mail or messenger). Approval covers accuracy and consent; it does not transfer editorial control over the Editor-in-Chief's commentary, which remains the editor's own view.
4. Consent, voluntariness and dignity
4.1. Every heroine takes part voluntarily and signs the Contributor Terms & Release before publication. Personal details, photographs and sensitive topics are published only with her informed consent.
4.2. Because the Editor-in-Chief is also the founder of CLIRIUM® ME and a writer, hypnotherapist and author of the CLIRIUM® method, the Magazine takes particular care to avoid any pressure on participants:
(a) an invitation to be featured may be declined without giving reasons and without any effect on the person's participation in CLIRIUM® ME programmes;
(b) the interview is a journalistic conversation, separate from any consultation, programme or session;
(c) nothing said in the course of consultations, programmes or sessions is used in the Magazine unless the heroine separately repeats it in the interview and consents to its publication.
4.3. A heroine may withdraw from publication at any time before the issue is released, without giving reasons. After release she may request correction, anonymisation or removal in accordance with the Corrections & Right of Reply Policy.
4.4. The Magazine presents every heroine with dignity. It does not mock, sensationalise or exploit trauma, poverty, illness, appearance, age or relationships, and it does not publish detail that is gratuitous to the story.
5. Privacy of third parties
5.1. People who appear in a heroine's story but have not consented to publication — including former and current partners, spouses, relatives, employers, colleagues and friends — are anonymised. The Magazine does not publish their names, surnames, photographs, workplaces, exact addresses, social-media handles or any combination of details that would allow them to be identified.
5.2. Children (persons under 18) are never named or made identifiable, whether the heroine's own children or others. They may be referred to by relationship and, where necessary, age. Photographs in which a child can be recognised are not published.
5.3. Allegations of wrongdoing against an identifiable person are not published unless supported by a court decision or other reliable documentary evidence and unless the person has been given an opportunity to respond. Accounts of abuse or conflict are told from the heroine's experience with the other party anonymised.
5.4. Health, sexual life, religious and political beliefs, ethnic origin and criminal record — of the heroine or of anyone else — are published only where essential to the story and, for the heroine, with her express consent; for third parties, never in identifiable form.
6. Health, psychology and wellbeing content
6.1. The Magazine does not give medical, psychological, psychotherapeutic, legal or financial advice. It does not diagnose, recommend treatment, or promise or imply any result — health, emotional, financial, relational or otherwise.
6.2. Health-related content is limited to the heroine's personal experience, clearly presented as such. Stories may describe what a heroine did and felt; they must not suggest that readers should do the same, stop or replace treatment, or expect the same outcome.
6.3. No story or commentary may state or imply that CLIRIUM® ME, hypnosis, any practice or any book cures, treats or prevents a disease or condition, or replaces professional care.
6.4. The Editor-in-Chief's commentary expresses her editorial view. Her professional credentials are stated for transparency and do not turn the commentary into a consultation for the heroine or for readers.
6.5. Every story that touches on physical or mental health, eating, addiction, violence, self-harm or suicide carries the following note: "This story reflects personal experience and is not medical or psychological advice. If you need help, please contact a qualified professional. In an emergency call your local emergency service (USA — 911 or 988; Russia — 112)."
6.6. Stories involving suicide or self-harm do not describe methods, do not present suicide as a solution and include the help information in clause 6.5.
7. Conflicts of interest and mandatory disclosure
7.1. Clirium's Magazine and CLIRIUM® ME share a founder, Victory Naydenova. CLIRIUM® ME services in the Russian Federation are provided by Victoria A. Naydenova as a self-employed individual. The Magazine does not sell those services.
7.2. Every article whose heroine is or has been a participant in CLIRIUM® ME programmes carries, at the beginning of the article, the following disclosure line:
"Disclosure: the heroine of this story is a participant in CLIRIUM® ME programmes. Clirium's Magazine and CLIRIUM® ME share a founder, Editor-in-Chief Victory Naydenova. This story reflects the heroine's personal experience and is not an independent assessment of the programmes."
7.3. Mentions of and links to CLIRIUM® ME, app.clirium.me, book.clirium.me and victorynaydenova.com are information about the founder's own projects and are never presented as independent recommendations.
7.4. Heroines are selected by editorial decision. Publication does not depend on buying, having bought or agreeing to buy any product or service, and heroines are not asked to promote CLIRIUM® ME as a condition of publication.
7.5. Any member of the Editorial Team who has a personal, family or financial relationship with a heroine or with a subject of a story, other than the relationship disclosed in clause 7.2, must declare it to the Editor-in-Chief before work begins. The Editor-in-Chief decides whether the person steps aside or whether the relationship is disclosed in the article.
8. Payments and gifts
8.1. The Magazine does not pay heroines for their stories, and heroines do not pay for publication in editorial sections. Editorial placement, coverage and favourable treatment are not for sale.
8.2. The Editorial Team does not accept money, gifts, travel, services or other benefits from heroines, sources or businesses that could influence, or reasonably appear to influence, editorial decisions. Items of nominal value (not exceeding US$50) offered as a courtesy may be accepted only if they create no obligation; anything else is declined or returned.
8.3. Products or services provided free of charge for review or for use in a story are disclosed in that story.
9. Sponsored and partner content
9.1. Invited heroines may, on request, appear in a partner format. Partner, sponsored and paid content and any content produced for compensation (money, free products or other benefits) is clearly and conspicuously labelled "Partner content / Sponsored" at the top of the material, in accordance with the FTC Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (16 CFR Part 255) and Section 5 of the FTC Act.
9.2. Where advertising is directed at consumers in the Russian Federation, it complies with Federal Law No. 38-FZ "On Advertising", including the label «Реклама», identification of the advertiser and the advertising identifier (erid) where required.
9.3. Affiliate links, if any, are disclosed next to the link. Sponsored content is subject to the same standards of truthfulness, privacy and health content as editorial content and never contains promises of results.
9.4. Sponsors and partners have no right to approve or change editorial content other than the partner material they have commissioned.
10. Images and visual integrity
10.1. Photographs must not mislead. Technical adjustments (exposure, colour, contrast, cropping, removal of dust and minor blemishes) are permitted. Alterations that change the substance of an image — body shape, facial features, age, adding or removing people or objects, changing the setting — are not made to documentary photographs.
10.2. Covers are portraits of the heroine and may be stylised, composited, retouched or created with the help of AI tools. Any cover or other visual that has been materially retouched, composited or generated or altered with AI is disclosed with the caption "Visualization" (Russian: «Визуализация»), and the heroine approves it before publication.
10.3. No image depicts a real, identifiable person in a place, situation or state in which that person was not, unless it is labelled as a visualisation and the person has consented.
10.4. Photographs are published with the rights holder's permission and credited where the rights holder so requests. Images of third parties are subject to section 5.
11. Respect and non-discrimination
11.1. The Magazine does not publish content that demeans or discriminates on the basis of sex, age, race, ethnicity, nationality, language, religion, disability, health, sexual orientation, marital or family status, body size, appearance or social or financial status.
11.2. Language is precise and respectful. Stereotypes and stigmatising terms about illness, disability, divorce, single motherhood, age or appearance are avoided.
11.3. Reader comments are moderated in accordance with the Comment Policy and held to the same standards.
12. Accountability
12.1. Errors are corrected openly under the Corrections & Right of Reply Policy.
12.2. Concerns about compliance with this Code may be sent to support@cliriumsmagazine.com with the subject "Ethics". The Editor-in-Chief reviews each concern and replies in writing. Where a concern involves the Editor-in-Chief personally, it is reviewed by the Publisher's manager Vladlen Naydenov.
12.3. The Code is reviewed at least annually. The current version is published on cliriumsmagazine.com with its effective date.
