Corrections & Right of Reply

1. Commitment

1.1. The Magazine corrects errors of fact promptly, openly and in a way readers can see. This Policy applies to all content published on cliriumsmagazine.com, in newsletters and on the Magazine's social-media channels.

1.2. Corrections are made by decision of the Editor-in-Chief. Where a request concerns the Editor-in-Chief personally, it is reviewed by the Publisher's manager Vladlen Naydenov.

2. Who may make a request

2.1. Any person may report an error: a heroine, a person mentioned or identifiable in a story, a reader, a rights holder or an authority.

2.2. A person who is identifiable in published material and considers that it states inaccurate facts about them or affects their reputation may, in addition, exercise the right of reply under section 7.

3. How to make a request

3.1. Requests are sent to support@cliriumsmagazine.com with one of the following subjects: "Correction", "Right of Reply", "Contributor" (for heroines) or "Third-party rights".

3.2. A request should include: the requester's name and contact details; the link to, or the issue number and title of, the material; the specific statement considered inaccurate; the correct information; and any supporting documents. Anonymous requests are considered but may limit the Magazine's ability to verify and respond.

3.3. Documents provided with a request are used only to assess it and are handled under the Privacy Policy.

4. Timelines

4.1. The Magazine acknowledges receipt of every request within 3 business days.

4.2. The Magazine decides on the request and informs the requester of the decision, with reasons, within 10 business days of receipt. If additional information is needed from the requester, the period is suspended until it is received; the requester is told what is needed.

4.3. Once a correction is approved it is published within 2 business days of the decision.

4.4. Where a written notice is served under section 770.01 of the Florida Statutes, the Magazine handles it on an expedited basis so that any correction, apology or retraction found warranted is published within the period provided by section 770.02 of the Florida Statutes, where those provisions apply.

4.5. Business days are Monday to Friday, excluding U.S. federal public holidays, in the Eastern Time zone.

5. Types of change

5.1. Correction — an error of fact is fixed (for example, a wrong date, amount, name, place, title or quotation, or a misattribution).

5.2. Clarification — the text was accurate but incomplete or open to a misleading reading; context is added.

5.3. Update — new facts that arose after publication are added; the original text is not presented as having been wrong.

5.4. Editor's note — a note explaining a material change in how the story is presented, including anonymisation, removal of images or the addition of a disclosure.

5.5. Withdrawal — the material is removed from public access (section 8).

6. Correction notice format

6.1. Every correction, clarification, update and editor's note is published at the end of the material (and, where the error appeared in the headline, cover line or first paragraph, also at the top), in the language(s) in which the material is published, in the following form:

"Corrected on [DD Month YYYY]: an earlier version of this story stated [inaccurate statement]. In fact, [correct statement]."

"Clarified on [DD Month YYYY]: [what was added and why]."

"Updated on [DD Month YYYY]: [what was added]."

"Editor's note, [DD Month YYYY]: [what was changed and why]."

6.2. Where repeating the inaccurate statement would itself cause harm (for example, by re-identifying a person or repeating a damaging allegation), the notice describes the nature of the error without repeating it.

6.3. Where the error concerned a heroine or a third party, the notice may include an apology.

6.4. Corrections are also made in all other places where the Magazine published the same error, including the issue page, newsletters sent after the correction and the Magazine's own social-media posts where the platform allows editing; where it does not, a correcting post is published.

7. Right of reply

7.1. A person who is identifiable in published material and whose reputation or interests are affected by it may submit a reply.

7.2. A reply of reasonable length (normally up to 300 words) that addresses the facts of the material is published below the material, headed "Reply from [name or description]" and dated, within the timelines in section 4, or the person is informed of the reasons for refusal.

7.3. The Magazine may decline or ask for the revision of a reply that is defamatory, unlawful, discloses personal data of others, identifies a heroine or a child who has been anonymised, is abusive, or is unrelated to the material.

7.4. Instead of, or in addition to, a reply, the Magazine may correct or anonymise the material, and it will do so where that better protects the privacy of the persons concerned.

7.5. Requests from persons in other jurisdictions, including the Russian Federation, the European Union and the United Kingdom, are considered in good faith under this Policy, without prejudice to their rights under applicable law.

8. Withdrawal and takedown by heroines

8.1. Before the issue is released, a heroine may withdraw consent to publication at any time and without giving reasons. Her material is not published.

8.2. After release, a heroine may request, with the subject "Contributor":

(a) correction of facts about her;

(b) anonymisation (removal of her name, surname, photographs and identifying details, and replacement of the cover image where necessary);

(c) removal of the material from the online archive.

8.3. Such requests are acknowledged within 3 business days and decided within 10 business days. Anonymisation or removal is granted unless a legal obligation or a compelling public interest requires otherwise; the heroine is informed in writing of any refusal and its reasons.

8.4. Where a material is removed, its page states: "This material has been withdrawn at the request of its heroine on [DD Month YYYY]." No further reasons are given. Where a material is anonymised, an editor's note records the date of anonymisation without explaining the reason.

8.5. After withdrawal or anonymisation, the Publisher stops using the heroine's name, image and story in new materials, including in the promotional channels of Clirium's Magazine and CLIRIUM®, and removes them from those channels where it controls them. The Publisher will request removal of outdated copies from search-engine caches using tools the search engines make available. The Publisher cannot recall newsletters already sent or copies made by third parties.

8.6. Records of consent and of the withdrawal request are retained as described in the Contributor Consents statement.

9. What is not changed silently

9.1. The following are never changed without a published notice under section 6: facts, dates, amounts, names, places, titles and credentials; direct quotations; headlines, cover lines and captions where the meaning changes; disclosures (including the CLIRIUM® ME disclosure line and sponsored-content labels); the substance of images, including replacement of a cover; the Editor-in-Chief's commentary where the meaning changes; and anonymisation or removal of material.

9.2. The following may be changed without a notice: spelling, grammar and punctuation that do not affect meaning; formatting and layout; broken links; and technical metadata.

9.3. The Magazine does not delete or alter published material to conceal an error, to satisfy a sponsor or to avoid criticism.

10. Record keeping and contact

10.1. The Magazine keeps a log of requests, decisions and published corrections for at least three years.
